Chapter 2
It
is Saturday morning and Aaron and his friends Janelle, Rakesh, and
his goat Jumpah are ready to explore the High Woods. Calling
themselves 'the Foresters' the three teenagers and their goat,
set out to rescue injured animals and to sample exotic fruits.
Playing near a stream of water the Foresters notice that there is a
lot of dead fish floating. Janelle says: “I'm hearing a noise
upstream!”
And
runs upwards with the boys trailing behind. Peeping through some
bushes the Foresters see a group of men dumping chemicals in the
river. Rakesh points out silently “you see that logo on the
barrels, that's 'Grede Enterprises' one of the biggest oil
contractors in Trinidad!”
Snapping
a picture with his cell phone Aaron says: “they're polluting the
river, we must tell someone about this!”
Just
then a man shouts: “what are you kids doing there?”
As
the Foresters run for their lives, because they are being chased by
the men at the river. Tripping on a vine Rakesh falls and is snatched
up by one of the men.
